Our journey to make a difference

Discover the heartfelt story behind Nurah Foundation, born from a personal journey to support suffering children in the UK, Malawi, and Guyana. Learn about our commitment and how we strive to bring hope and care to those who need it most.

Inspired by Nurah: our beginning

Nurah Foundation was established in memory of our daughter, Nurah, who was born with Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Deficiency, a rare condition that severely increased her muscle tone. Nurah battled a severe brain disorder and a metabolic condition, necessitating peg feeding and various medications to manage her muscle spasms and maintain her comfort. She could not sit up, speak, or develop typically.

From personal struggle to a shared purpose

During a visit to Guyana, Nurah's parents met Zahra, a child with a similar condition, whose family shared their profound difficulties and challenges. This encounter, coupled with Nurah's daily need for a suction machine, profoundly motivated Nurah's grandma and other well-wishers to establish Nurah Foundation. Our aim is to provide vital support and care, reflecting Nurah's memory and spirit.

Our hopes: empowering more children

Our greatest hope for Nurah Foundation in the coming years is to expand our reach and assist as many suffering children as our resources allow, both in the UK, Malawi, and Guyana. We are committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable children, ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve.

"The dedication and compassion of Nurah Foundation are truly inspiring. They turn hope into action for children who need it most."
